HEAVY DUTY Magazine is a single brand, bi-monthly motorcycle magazine established in Melbourne in 1991. It is dedicated exclusively to HARLEY-DAVIDSON motorcycles and their owners, riders and enthusiasts.
HEAVY DUTY has established an enviable reputation for its wealth of technical expertise. The magazine currently has seven different models on our test fleet which cover the five major platforms manufactured by the Harley-Davidson factory.

All these bikes are owned by the magazine and staff. They are used to evaluate products as well as provide an ongoing analysis of the models themselves. The staff are actively involved in riding, racing, rebuilding and restoring H-Ds.

HEAVY DUTY is actively involved in the readers lifestyle as well. We sponsor custom bike shows and various readers rides throughout the year. The HEAVY DUTY ESCAPE is a week long ride, through three Australian states, held each February. The ESCAPE is a sell-out every year.

HEAVY DUTY attracts the mature, enthusiast rider. We do not indulge in the tits, tatts or gratuitous drug taking that other so-called "biker" magazines seem to find necessary. And our advertising reflects this.

Australian and overseas companies are far happier to be associated with a magazine that will not drag their name through the mud. We are currently contracted with Harley-Davidson Australia and many other major players in the H-D industry. A quick scan of the magazine will confirm this.

Based on publishing industry standards, HEAVY DUTY claims over 60,000 readers. We export into the USA, UK, South Africa and New Zealand and from March 2007, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong. We print 176 pages an issue and use a high quality, 80gsm page stock with TWO glossy 250gsm double posters and cover. HD is the only motorcycle publication in Australia to offer this kind of production quality. HEAVY DUTY has also won recognition from the motorcycle industry, most recently at the 2006 AMI awards, for Best V-Twin Magazine.

The world of Harley-Davidson and custom V-Twins is populated mainly by mature males who have a family, a mortgage and a dollar to spend. They are the target market of HEAVY DUTY and a market that your business can tap into through the pages of HEAVY DUTY.
